Founder | Advocate

Pal & Co. Law Chambers is headed by Mr. Arkadeep Pal, an Advocate with over four years of post-qualification experience in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution. The Chambers is headquartered in Bengaluru and maintains an active practice across a wide range of civil, commercial, and regulatory matters.

Mr. Pal has appeared before forums spanning the trial courts to the Supreme Court of India, including the High Court of Karnataka, the National Company Law Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunals, RERA, and domestic arbitral tribunals, including the Karnataka Arbitration and Conciliation Centre. This breadth of forum experience enables the Chambers to advise clients with clarity and continuity at every stage of a dispute — from early advisory and pre-litigation strategy through trial, appeal, and enforcement.

The Chambers has developed particular depth in insolvency and bankruptcy law, with hands-on experience in significant corporate insolvency proceedings before the NCLT, and in arbitration law, with a focus on procedural strategy, interim relief, and post-award proceedings. Alongside its dispute resolution practice, Pal & Co. advises on general corporate matters, intellectual property, conveyancing, and estate planning, and represents clients in matrimonial, family, and criminal proceedings.

Practice Areas

Dispute Resolution — Civil, Commercial & Public Law

Representation across the full range of civil, commercial, and public law matters — from pre-litigation advisory through trial, appeal, and execution.

We represent clients across the full range of civil, commercial, and public law matters — from pre-litigation advisory through trial, appeal, and execution. Our litigation practice spans Civil Courts, High Courts, the Supreme Court of India, the National Company Law Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunals, and statutory bodies, including RERA. We appear in matters involving commercial disputes, contractual claims, property and title litigation, injunction proceedings, recovery actions, and landlord-tenant disputes.

In public law, we advise and represent clients in writ proceedings before High Courts and the Supreme Court, including matters involving constitutional rights, statutory interpretation, and challenges to administrative and regulatory action. We engage with issues arising across sectors where private interests intersect with state action and public authority.

Our arbitration practice covers ad hoc and institutional proceedings, with experience in interim relief applications, procedural disputes, and post-award enforcement and challenge. In insolvency, we handle creditor and debtor-side mandates under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, including admission petitions, resolution support, and appellate proceedings. We also appear before Debt Recovery Tribunals and labour courts in recovery and employment-related matters.

Dispute Resolution — Matrimonial & Family

Sensitive, considered representation recognising the personal consequences that extend well beyond the courtroom.

We provide sensitive, considered representation in matrimonial and family matters, recognising that these proceedings carry personal consequences that extend well beyond the courtroom. Our practice covers divorce proceedings under personal law and the Special Marriage Act, judicial separation, maintenance and alimony claims, child custody and guardianship matters, and proceedings under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. We also advise on matrimonial property rights, stridhan recovery, and partition and succession disputes within families.

Matrimonial and family disputes frequently give rise to connected criminal proceedings, whether under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code, dowry-related offences, or allegations arising in the course of custody and separation disputes. We represent clients on both sides of such proceedings before Magistrate Courts, Sessions Courts, and High Courts, including in bail applications, quashing petitions under Section 482 CrPC, and trial.

Where resolution outside court is possible, we actively explore mediation and negotiated settlement as alternatives to protracted litigation, prioritising outcomes that serve our clients' long-term interests and, where children are involved, their welfare above all.

Criminal Law

Representation at every stage from investigation and bail through trial and appeal.

We represent individuals, directors, and corporate entities in criminal proceedings across Magistrate Courts, Sessions Courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court; at every stage from investigation and bail through trial and appeal.

A significant part of our criminal practice involves economic and financial offences. We handle cheque dishonour cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, representing both complainants and accused across summary trial proceedings and appellate courts. In white collar crime matters, we advise and appear in cases involving fraud, criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and offences under sector-specific legislation, including the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the Companies Act, 2013. We also represent clients in cybercrime proceedings, covering offences under the Information Technology Act, 2000, including data theft, online fraud, identity theft, and unauthorised access, and advise on the intersection of cyber law with financial and corporate criminal liability.

Beyond economic offences, we handle bail applications, anticipatory bail, quashing petitions, and represent clients in general criminal matters where robust advocacy and procedural precision are equally essential. Where clients face simultaneous civil and criminal exposure, as is common in commercial disputes and matrimonial matters, we coordinate strategy across both tracks to ensure consistency and protect our clients' interests at every front.

General Corporate & Due Diligence

Advisory at every stage — from structuring and incorporation through ongoing compliance and commercial contracting.

We advise businesses at various stages, from structuring and incorporation through ongoing compliance and commercial contracting. Our transactional work includes drafting and negotiating agreements across sectors, reviewing and opining on corporate documents, and advising on regulatory compliance. We conduct legal due diligence for acquisitions, investments, and financing transactions, with particular focus on identifying litigation exposure, contingent liabilities, and title risks. We also advise on employment frameworks, vendor and service contracts, and general commercial matters that arise in the course of business.

Intellectual Property

Advisory and representation across the full range of intellectual property matters — from registration through enforcement.

Our transactional and advisory practice covers trademark, copyright, design, and patent matters, including filing and prosecution of applications, responding to examination reports and objections, and advising on IP strategy, licensing, and assignment. We assist clients in conducting IP audits, structuring licensing arrangements, and drafting agreements that adequately protect proprietary rights in commercial transactions.

On the contentious side, we represent clients in trademark and copyright infringement proceedings, passing off actions, and design disputes before Civil Courts and High Courts. We advise on interlocutory relief strategy, including applications for temporary injunctions and Anton Piller-type orders, where urgent protection of intellectual property rights is required. We also handle opposition and rectification proceedings before the Trade Marks Registry and the Intellectual Property Appellate Board, and advise on domain name disputes and online infringement, including takedown mechanisms and platform liability questions.

Where IP rights intersect with criminal law, as in cases of counterfeiting, piracy, and deliberate infringement at scale, we coordinate civil and criminal strategy, including complaints under the Trade Marks Act, Copyright Act, and the Indian Penal Code, and represent clients in related criminal proceedings.

Conveyancing & Estate Planning

Property transactions and succession planning across Karnataka.

We assist individuals, families, and entities with property transactions and succession planning across Karnataka. Our conveyancing practice covers title verification, drafting of sale deeds, agreements to sell, lease and leave-and-licence agreements, and related documentation. We advise on stamp duty and registration requirements and coordinate with revenue and sub-registrar offices. On the estate planning side, we draft Wills, trust deeds, and related instruments, and advise on the legal and tax implications of succession, gifting, and family arrangements, with a view to minimising future disputes and ensuring testamentary intent is clearly expressed.
